The lovely South Branch of the Potomac River Gorge known by locals as "The Trough" is a special place where, among the natural flora and fauna, one might spy an eagle in flight. The peaceful view in this painting is from the edge of a heritage farm that is now a wildlife management area where the Potomac Eagle scenic touring train crosses the river.
