"Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life." ~Rachel Carson
The comment I hear most often from viewers of my art is that they sense peace when they look at it. Enter here to find more peaceful landscapes inspired from my places. Included are pieces painted in my studio and on location (en plein air). Some have people or man-made objects included but all are set in nature.
Finding beauty in the ordinary is a gift that brings hope into every day life.
Discovering striking contrasts and subtleties in how light and shadow create patterns brings me joy in observing and painting common things. I began painting still lifes in college when it was impossible to paint outdoors and we were not allowed to use photographs. Through this, I developed my eye and still enjoy the beauty I find in creating still life paintings.
The paintings listed as "Vintage" in this collection were done in the 1980's as my college work.
